Business Writing

Today’s fast-paced business environment causes many employees to cut corners, and unfortunately the quality of business writing is one of the first victims. True business writing involves more than knowing how to run spell check in a word processing document; it means understanding both language and the audience and how to articulate a case in a convincing and accurate fashion. Attendees of this course will learn (or have refreshed) business writing skills that will allow them to write more powerfully and prolifically.

Effective Communication

This 8-hour course is designed to introduce the student to the theory and practice of effective interpersonal communication. In today’s fast-paced business world, healthy and effective communication is more important than ever before. New technologies have made effective communication critical, yet many employees lack the basic understanding of its role and importance to the creation and maintenance of a productive work environment. This course will prepare attendees to take advantage of every communication opportunity by allowing attendees to learn and practice proven tools and techniques.

Listening Effectively

This 4-hour course equips the attendee with the skills necessary to actively practice effective listening skills. Listening—like many communication skills—is often underutilized in today’s business climate. Despite the increased pace of communications overall, effective listening is still a critical component for any employee. This course will allow the attendee the opportunity to examine listening from both a sender and a receiver’s standpoint. The attendee will come away from this class prepared with new listening skills that will allow him or her to contribute more effectively at the workplace.

Meeting Facilitation

Meetings can be both captivating and informative, if well designed and run. This 4-hour course will equip attendees with the necessary skills to know when to call a meeting, how to plan and organize a meeting and how to make sure everyone leaves feeling informed and that their time was well-spent.

Presentation Skills

Every employee presents, all the time. This course is designed to make them aware of this fact and to provide them with the skills to create and deliver presentations—whether formal or not—effectively. Attendees are given the opportunity not only to learn the ins and outs of how to create and deliver quality presentations, they will also have the chance to practice what they have mastered.
